Flashcards and Self Testing With AI
Make good flashcards and get quizzed by AI so you remember more with less rereading.
A taste of a lesson
I asked AI to make flashcards from my biology notes and it made 80. Is that good?
Eighty cards is a lot to check, and quality matters more than quantity. Go through them quickly: delete any you do not understand, merge duplicates, and split any card with a long list. Check every answer against your notes, because AI can slip in errors. Then add a few why questions, like 'Why do cells need mitochondria?' instead of just definitions. Start with twenty good ones. Pick one card now: can you answer it without looking?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
Testing yourself is one of the best supported ways to remember what you study, and an AI assistant makes it easy: it can turn your notes into questions, quiz you one question at a time, and explain what you got wrong. This tutor teaches beginners to make effective flashcards, avoid the common traps such as cards that are too big or copied without understanding, check AI generated cards for errors, and run quiz sessions that make you think before seeing the answer. You also learn how spaced repetition works in general, whichever app or paper system you prefer.

Found two wrong answers in my AI made cards thanks to the checking step. Fewer, better cards works.

The 'answer before feedback' quiz sessions are so much better than rereading. My chemistry test score went up and I actually remember things.

Adding why questions made my cards less boring and helped me understand the history topics, not just dates.

I teach people how to study well with an AI assistant at their side. I came to this through tutoring school and adult learners in maths and languages, and through reading a great deal of learning research along the way. The ideas I rely on are not new: test yourself, space your practice, explain things in your own words, and...
