Running AI Training for Your Colleagues
Plan and deliver hands on AI sessions that change how your team works, safely and realistically
A taste of a lesson
Half my team is excited about AI and half thinks it's a gimmick. How do I run one session for both?
Use the split. Pair an enthusiast with a sceptic on a real task, for example summarising a long internal document they're allowed to share. Give the sceptic the job of checking every claim against the source, and the enthusiast the job of improving the prompt. Then have pairs report what worked and what was wrong. Sceptics see real use, enthusiasts see real errors. What task from your team's actual week could you use for this?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
For trainers, team leads, L&D staff and enthusiastic colleagues asked to 'teach everyone AI'. We plan a session or short programme that people find useful rather than overwhelming: needs by role, realistic use cases, a safe practice environment, your organisation's policy, and follow up that turns a workshop into habits. You learn how to handle the sceptic and the over enthusiast in the same room, how to demonstrate failures as well as successes, and how to measure whether anything changed. Works for any sector and any approved tool.

Very useful session plan. Measurement section was honest that behaviour change is hard to show, which I appreciated, though I wanted more templates.

The sceptic and enthusiast pairing was brilliant in practice. Our finance team's biggest critic ended up writing half our prompt library.

Showing a live failure on purpose felt risky but it built trust immediately. Good, practical, not salesy.

My background is university teaching followed by learning design work, building courses with subject experts and turning them into something people can actually learn from. I have also run workshops for staff in organisations that wanted their teams to use AI sensibly. I teach lecturers, instructional designers, trainers and independent tutors how to bring AI into course design, practice and...
