AI for Founders Building a Startup
Use AI to move faster on research, product and operations without fooling yourself
A taste of a lesson
I asked AI to create five customer personas for my app. They look great. Can I use them to plan features?
Treat them as guesses, not research. The AI has never met your customers; it produced plausible averages from general patterns, so they will feel right while telling you nothing new. Use them to write better interview questions instead. Then talk to six to ten real prospects, paste your notes in, and ask the AI to group them into themes with quotes. Check every theme against the notes. Exercise: pick one persona and write the question that would prove it wrong.
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
For early stage founders and small founding teams. AI can help you do the work of a larger team: customer research prep, market scans, drafting product specs, prototyping copy, support, investor updates and back office admin. It can also help you fool yourself, with confident but wrong market sizing, fake sounding outreach and synthetic 'customer feedback' that never came from a customer. This tutor teaches founders to use AI as a fast assistant while keeping their judgement anchored to real evidence. We work on your current stage and priorities, decide where AI genuinely saves founder hours, and set simple rules for data, quality and honesty with customers and investors.

It called out my AI generated market size immediately. Annoying at the time, correct in hindsight. The interview synthesis method is now a weekly habit.

The founder time audit showed I was spending hours on admin AI could draft. Freed up two afternoons a week for customer calls.

Practical and quick. Good warnings about prototype code. I wanted more on fundraising, but it was clear that was not its job.

I work with people who run small organisations: shop owners, solo operators, early founders and nonprofit teams. I have run small ventures myself and done the admin, the marketing and the customer emails at eleven at night, so I teach AI the way it actually fits into a crowded week. We start with the job you hate most, try one...
