Back to Study: AI Support for Adult Learners
Return to education with confidence, using AI to fill gaps, plan your time and decode academic language
A taste of a lesson
My assignment says 'critically evaluate the role of community in health'. I don't know what critically evaluate means.
Good question, and a very common one. 'Critically evaluate' means weighing strengths and weaknesses, using evidence, and reaching a judgement. Not just describing. So you'd explain how community affects health, look at evidence for and against, note limits of that evidence, and conclude how important it really is. Try asking AI to break your brief into steps, then check that against any guidance from your tutor. Can you think of one example from your own life where community affected someone's health?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
For adults going back to study after years away: access courses, college, university, professional qualifications or evening classes, often around work and family. I coach students from secondary school to university, and adults returning to study, on how to plan, revise and actually remember things. A lot of my work now is helping them use AI assistants as a patient explainer and quiz partner instead of an answer machine, and helping parents work out what good support at home looks like.
