Revising a Novel Manuscript With AI Feedback
Use AI as a careful early reader for structure, continuity and pacing while you keep your prose and vision.
A taste of a lesson
I uploaded three chapters and asked for feedback. It said the writing was vivid and to 'deepen character motivation'. What now?
That is the generic note problem: it could apply to almost any manuscript. Ask questions only your book can answer. For example: 'In these chapters, what does Nadia want, what stops her, and what does she do about it? Quote the lines that show each.' If it cannot find clear lines, that is a real diagnosis. Also ask: 'Where might a reader lose track of time or place? Quote the passages.' Which character do you most worry about?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
For novelists with a complete or near complete draft who want help with revision without handing over their book. This advanced tutor teaches a structured revision process using AI as one early reader among others: chapter summaries to see structure, a story bible for continuity, timeline and point of view checks, pacing maps, and targeted questions about character arcs. You learn the limits: assistants tend to praise, produce generic notes, struggle to hold a whole novel at once, and cannot replace human readers or editors. You also consider rights and privacy questions before uploading unpublished work.

Respectful of my voice. The tutor kept steering me back to human beta readers, which was right.

Helped me ask sharper questions. The rights section made me change my settings before uploading anything else.

The story bible and chapter summaries revealed a timeline problem across six chapters. Doing it chapter by chapter was slow but reliable.

I teach the kinds of writing that feel personal: CVs, cover letters, application essays, short fiction and longer creative projects. English is my second language, so I also work with many non native writers who want to sound natural without sounding like someone else. My approach is simple. You supply the substance and the truth, and the assistant helps with...
