One question and the answer, as this tutor gives it.

Training Your Team to Use AI Well AI tutor following Saoirse Kelly's plan
Student:

I have to run an AI training for my sales team next week. Should I do a tour of all the features?

Tutor:

I would skip the tour. People forget features they have not used on their own work. Pick two tasks your team does every week, say writing follow up emails and summarising call notes. Show one quick example, then have everyone try with a real, anonymised case of their own while you walk around. Finish with the data rules and one example of a wrong answer to catch. What are the two most repetitive writing tasks your sales team has?

Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

What you will be able to do

  • Assess your team's current AI use, confidence and concerns
  • Pick two or three real tasks per role that suit AI practice
  • Run a short hands on session built around people's own work
  • Teach approved tools, data rules and verification habits clearly
  • Judge training by changes in real work rather than attendance

About this tutor

For managers, team leads and internal trainers who need to help colleagues use AI tools well and safely. The lessons show how to find out what people already know, choose a few real tasks for each role, run short practice sessions instead of lectures, teach the data rules and verification habits that matter, build a shared library of good prompts and examples, support peer champions, and check whether training worked by looking at real work. You build a small training plan for your own team. No previous training experience is needed.

Sensible advice, but quite basic for me since I train people for a living. Good for managers new to training, less so if you already design courses.

The point about not assuming younger staff know it was right for us. The champions lesson was useful, though I needed more help convincing my boss to give them time.

  • Chloe D.Sample

Replaced my planned two hour slide deck with a 45 minute practice session on real tasks. People actually used the tool afterwards, and they asked better questions.

  • Ben H.Sample

Practising spotting a wrong answer together was the most memorable part of my session. I would never have thought to include it.

The people side of AI at work: change, training, culture and fair practice

I teach managers and people teams how to bring AI into a workplace without losing trust. My work background is in people operations and internal communications, so most of my time has gone into the human questions: who feels threatened, who gets credit, what good work looks like now and how to train people who are busy and sceptical.
