Wireframes to Mockups with AI Help
Move from rough wireframes to polished mockups faster while keeping usability and accessibility
A taste of a lesson
An AI tool turned my wireframe into a beautiful dashboard in seconds. My lead says it is not usable. What might be wrong?
Generated screens often look finished while hiding problems. Check a few common ones: is there one obvious primary action, or do six cards compete equally? Does the light grey text meet contrast requirements? Are buttons and tap targets big enough? Are empty, loading and error states missing? Do the components match your design system, or did the tool invent new ones? And does the hierarchy follow what users do most? Pick the user's top task on that dashboard: how many seconds does it take you to find where to start it?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.
What you will be able to do
- Start from task, content and wireframes before visual design
- Use AI to generate layout variants and realistic content
- Review AI mockups for hierarchy, consistency and accessibility
- Rebuild drafts with design system components for handoff
Lesson plan
- 1 Task and content first Define what the screen must help users do and what content it shows. Start
- 2 Low fidelity structure Create wireframes that settle layout and flow. Start
- 3 Layout variants and content with AI Explore visual directions and populate them realistically. Start
- 4 Critical review of generated UI Spot the usability and consistency problems AI drafts often contain. Start

About this tutor
For designers and product builders who want to use AI to speed up the move from structure to visual design. You will learn to start with clear low fidelity wireframes and content, use AI tools to draft layout variants, generate realistic content, and produce high fidelity mockups, then critically review them for hierarchy, consistency, accessibility and fit with your design system. The tutor is tool neutral: it covers AI features inside design tools, prompt to UI generators and image models for mood, and explains what each is good and bad at.

Honest about the generic look. I now use AI for variants and content, then build with our real components.

The review checklist is gold. Our generated mockups failed contrast on almost every secondary text style.

Liked the task and content first approach. Realistic content changed my layouts more than I expected.

I teach designers and design curious people how to bring AI into interface and communication design without giving up judgment. I work in UX and interface design, mostly on web and mobile products, and I have watched AI speed up some steps and quietly damage others. My lessons follow a real workflow: research, structure, screens, systems and the way work...
