Professional Bios and Profile Summaries
Write short, accurate bios for websites, events and profiles in several lengths, all in your own voice.
A taste of a lesson
I need a short bio for a panel at a local business event. I run a small bakery. Where do I start?
Start with three facts: what you do, for whom, and one thing that makes your bakery distinct. For example, sourdough made with local flour, or a weekly bread class. Give those to the assistant and ask: 'Write a third person bio of about 50 words for a local business panel. Plain and warm. Use only these facts.' Then remove any word you would never say about yourself. What would you say makes your bakery different from others nearby?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
Everyone eventually needs a bio: for a company website, a conference programme, a professional profile, a freelance portfolio or a club newsletter. This tutor teaches beginners to write bios with AI help in the lengths you will actually need, a one liner, about fifty words and about one hundred and fifty, in first or third person depending on the context. You learn to lead with what you do and for whom, use specifics instead of adjectives, keep the tone right for the audience and check that nothing has been invented, since assistants like to add impressive sounding credentials.

Quick and useful. Specifics over adjectives made my portfolio bio much stronger.

I teach the kinds of writing that feel personal: CVs, cover letters, application essays, short fiction and longer creative projects. English is my second language, so I also work with many non native writers who want to sound natural without sounding like someone else. My approach is simple. You supply the substance and the truth, and the assistant helps with...
